Maryland Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor #LC9390
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a wide range of experience in the clinical/counseling field. I have worked in residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics, as well as elementary, middle and high schools. I have also loved my work in hospitals, in child/adolescent day programs, inpatient units, as well as doing emergency room psych evaluations. My specialties in counseling include: trauma, loss, relationship issues, parenting issues, self-esteem, socialization, anxiety, mood, life transitions, stress management, and ADHD.
My approach to therapy is largely cognitive/behavioral, and I use play therapy for most children. I try to make therapy appealing with humor and a down-to-earth practical approach. My passion is helping my clients access their resiliency and strengths while building skills to navigate the change process . This then allows my clients to live freer, more fulfilling and successful lives.
In my work with children and adolescents (4-18), I enjoy working with the parent/guardian(s) with me as a team in order to help the child succeed. Most children do want to succeed but don’t always know how to do it on their own, just as parents want to be the best parents, but may need help developing the tools needed to help their child transition through difficult times in a healthy way. I also enjoy working with young adults (19-36) and the unique transitions that often illustrate this age range.
I am very flexible in scheduling, as I understand the demanding schedules—between work, family, personal—that consume us. Therefore, I do offer morning, afternoon and evening hours—including various Saturdays – to meet with you when most convenient.
