Counseling Philosophy

Therapy is a unique relationship that allows you to discover who you really are and the patterns that shape your life.  It can foster emotional growth, affirm your identity and curiosity, and gently challenge you to create change.  As a therapist who values a deep and meaningful connection with my clients, I focus on offering a safe and authentic space that invites the process of healing and growth to begin.  Whether you are looking to increase self-awareness and gain insight, or face difficulty coping with stress, anxiety and depression, low self-confidence, body image concerns, a feeling of being stuck in an unhappy place, or a tendency to experience the same problems repeatedly, I will meet you right where you are.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a wide range of clinical experience including: anxiety and mood disorders, substance use disorders and other addictive behaviors, interpersonal relationship issues, trauma, grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and life transitions.  I work primarily within a cognitive behavioral framework, but our work together will be informed by what best suits you.

My therapeutic style is interactive and collaborative.  My clients describe me as compassionate, open-minded, calm, attentive, and honest. I bring warmth, genuine curiosity and empathy to sessions and believe in a direct and transparent approach when talking with my clients.  As your therapist, I want you to feel heard, accepted and empowered as we work together through the rewarding process of therapy.
