Counseling Philosophy

I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family therapist (LCMFT) with 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with individuals of varying backgrounds and supported Children, Adolescents and Adults in coping with life's challenges. Prior to joining New Perspectives I have been employed in outpatient mental health clinics, hospitals, Residential Rehabilitation and Crisis Stabilization Programs as well as Private Practice settings.  My work focuses primarily on grief and loss, family dynamics/conflict, adolescent stressors, depression, anxiety, and marital/relationship issues.

I have studied different treatment modalities for support in marital conflict over the last 5 years. In my couples work it is my goal to support couples in improving communication and identifying their goals for their relationship. Whether it’s overcoming challenges, reconnecting with one another in a meaningful way, or making tough decisions it is my desire to support you both. Through safe, supportive and evidenced based practices I hope to guide you to better communication and deeper personal and relationship satisfaction.

When working one on one  in therapy my clients are in the driver's seat. My philosophy is to focus first on connecting with my clients and then allowing them to direct our work. It is my goal to create an environment for you to discover the peace and self-satisfaction you are looking for when taking the bold step in beginning therapy.
